Painting Your View of Life

The successful outcome of our lives revolves around one thing: our view of God’s nature. What we believe about the nature of God shapes our attitudes, our choices, our relationships and our expectations. The foundation of our faith must rest this reality: God is GOOD. David said of God, You are good and you do good. (Psalm 119:68) This must be our most basic world view and our permanent mindset, no matter what happens. We can¹t let life paint our view of God. Rather, we must let this correct view of God paint our view of life.

When things don’t go our way, we have a choice: to question God or to believe that God’s goodness will somehow turn it around! What we believe at that moment has the power to change everything. That’s why its so vital to establish your view of God, as He truly is: infinitely good, beyond our wildest dreams or expectations! Our faith in God’s goodness renders powerless the negative circumstance in our life. When we know how good God is, we know the bad thing in our life doesn’t stand a chance!

Nevertheless, as soon as something bad happens, many people ask, Where is God? But the better question to ask is, Where am I? The answer is:In the hands of a good and loving God! When you realize that, no matter what is going on around you, everything is going to be alright! When God and your problem are in the same room, one of those things has to change.Since God’s nature never changes, your problem will! Good always overcomes evil (Romans 12:21).

Psalm 27:13 says, I would have despaired unless I believed I would see the goodness of God in the land of the living. Are you tempted to despair, to give up on your miracle, your marriage, your kids or your job? Are you tempted to give up on giving, or believing your breakthrough is coming? The strength to keep going doesn’t come from will power, but from the assurance that you WILL SEE God’s goodness show up!
Its coming!

Storms surely come in life, but don¹t let them paint your view of God!See every obstacle through eyes that are laser-focused on God’s goodness and you will respond with confidence and peace. Remember, the outcome of our life is not determined by what happens to us, but by how we respond. Our assurance in God’s goodness is what will lead us to respond with faith and confident expectation!

I want to fully equip you to experience complete victory over every trial in life. So be sure to participate in this week¹s offer, “Wisdom for Life’s Storms.

The Secret Law of the Soul

Secret Law of the Soul (from the teaching on 2/24/13): Taste & See that the Lord is good.

There is an amazing truth at work in your soul that determines the direction and outcome of your life. Without you even being aware of it, the way you live and react to life is being shaped by this undeniable truth. A. W. Tozer called it the “Secret Law of the Soul”. You may not realize it, but your mental image of God affects everything you do, everything you feel, and how you respond to the circumstances of life. Simply put, what you think about God shapes who you are and how you live. What you truly believe about God shapes how you act and react.

What does this look like? Well, have you ever met a Christian who, instead of being loving and gracious, they were judgmental and unkind. That’s simply because deep inside their soul they truly believe that God is judgmental and unmerciful toward them. But when someone is kind and forgiving, it’s because that’s the view they have of God. They have tasted His kindness and been changed by His love. Remember the woman who came to Jesus and washed His feet with her tears and with her hair? What caused her to demonstrate such love? Jesus said that she had been forgiven much, therefore she loved much–Luke 7:47. Her view of God changed when He forgave her rather than judging her; when He accepted her rather than rejecting her. And her view of God shaped how she acted.

You see, this is not about religion. This is all about an encounter with the God of all grace. His goodness and love are so great, that once you taste and see that He is good, you will never be the same.

We often react to life’s trials with fear, worry and anger—simply because our view of God is that He is not actively doing anything about our situation. But when we realize He has already moved heaven and earth for us, it changes how we react to the problem. When we realize He has worked it out from the end to the beginning (Isaiah 46:10)–anger, fear & worry cease.
Can you imagine the impact you can make in your world when you truly believe that God is Love?! When you know that the God of love will never leave you or forsake you; He will never break His promise to you, peace comes. When you are truly convinced that God isn’t mad at you, but He’s mad about you, it will shape how you treat yourself, how you treat others, and how you confidently and calmly handle whatever life throws your way! When you understand deep down inside your soul that God is a loving, forgiving Father, you will love much. The world will be different because of you.

The Bible is a mirror that reflects what God is really like and what we are truly like inside! We are everything God says we are. As Jesus is, so are we in this world!–1 John 4:17. That is your new identity in Christ. And your destiny comes from your identity.

The Goodness of God

This week I want to share with you the simplest but most important truth you could ever discover: God is GOOD. He is always good. We know God loves us but its vital to understand that He doesn’t love us in word only. He loves us with action. And that action is always a demonstration of His goodness. God’s love & His goodness are inseparable. When you know He loves you & when you know He’s good, you can always rest, EXPECTING something good to happen in your life!

As I describe in this short video, the # 1 reason a person doesn’t believe in God or doesn’t want to follow Him is that they have not yet discovered how good He really is. When you become truly aware of His goodness, what’s not to love? A life touched by the goodness and love of God will never be the same. That’s why Romans 2:4 says, “It is the goodness (the lovingkindness) of God that leads you to repentance. The word “repentance” means “to change your mind & your direction”. When you encounter God’s goodness and love, it causes you to change. It changes you! It draws you to Him and it draws you to a different way of living. When you discover this goodness, it gives you hope. It gives you faith. It gives you a reason to always live in positive expectation. And when others see God’s goodness in our lives, they will want to follow Him too!

Be sure to get your copy of this week’s product offer entitled “Resting on the Pillow of God’s Promises”, and begin to walk in the fullness of God’s goodness in every area of your life! You may be asking, “How can I do that?” Well, all it takes is knowing how good God is. When you know that, you will have confidence that He will keep His promises. Now I know that may seem obvious, and that it’s just a basic thought we as Christians assume, but when we really “get it”, it will change everything about us, and it will bring many people into God’s kingdom with us! We have the power to truly transform the world by experiencing God’s goodness in our lives. Psalm 126 says, “The nations will see and they will say: The Lord has done great things for you.” When we experience His goodness and share it with others, many souls will turn to the Lord Jesus. They will seek His goodness & lovingkindness. When you see that, you’ll be glad you discovered this simple truth: God is GOOD!
